Abstract: A prospective, longitudinal, observational study; Faculty of Medical Sciences "Dr. Miguel Enríquez", in the period from January 2011 to January 2013, motivated by the gravity of toxic habit which is smoking and marked its presence in the health sector; with the aim of comparing the NLP and conventional therapy in patients with smoking addiction. 30 workers, of whom 10 patients formed the group treated with the technique of NLP and two control groups with 10 more patients each, in which we applied conventional drug therapy and the other group were treated applying total both therapies. Result indicate that the technique of NLP is more effective than drug therapy for smoking cessation.
